Digicel Celebrates Special Needs Awareness This October

Pushes for Workplace Inclusivity for Special Needs Community

We won’t be having our annual Digicel 5K this year, but we’re still going to #DoItForSpecialNeeds this October! Our team at Digicel is raising awareness for workplace inclusivity under the theme ‘Together We Can Be the Change’. We’re staging a number of activities over the next four weeks to raise awareness, stir action and seek firm commitments to workplace inclusivity.

Employers of all sizes can join the conversation on providing additional employment opportunities and improving conditions for persons with disabilities.

The month-long activities include a special forum on October 12 to discuss the rights of persons with Special Needs, featuring representatives from the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities and the Jamaica Employers Federation. On October 19, we go live for our first Virtual Conference on Special Needs – talking about ‘Overcoming Challenges to Workplace Inclusion'.

Special Needs Month will also include testimonials, giveaways and other activities via the Digicel Jamaica and Digicel Foundation social media pages.
