Digicel Foundation and Jamaica Biscuit Company Collaborate to Gift Toys and Treats to Over 650 Children with Special Needs this Christmas
Kingston, Jamaica – December 08, 2023: In a season dedicated to giving and spreading joy, the Digicel Foundation and the Jamaica Biscuit Company are coming together to create memorable experiences for over 650 children in 10 special needs schools across the island.
Digicel Foundation will be gifting toys, cake, and ice cream to the students, reflecting its commitment to positively impacting the lives of the most vulnerable, especially during the holiday season.
"Christmas is a time of giving and sharing, and we are delighted to collaborate with the Jamaica Biscuit Company to bring joy to the children in these schools. The Digicel Foundation is committed to positively impacting the communities we serve, and this initiative aligns perfectly with our mission of creating a world where no one gets left behind," said Charmaine Daniels, CEO of the Digicel Foundation.
Ms Daniels also expressed gratitude to the volunteers who will be delivering the toys to the children. “Over 140 volunteers who are all Digicel staff will be assisting us in bringing smiles to these children. We are grateful to our volunteers for their invaluable contribution in making a difference.”
As part of the festivities, the Jamaica Biscuit Company, through its Holiday and Excelsior brands, will be gifting snacks to the children.
The company says it is committed to supporting the initiative. “We are excited to have this opportunity to collaborate with the Digicel Foundation on this project. The holiday season is all about bringing joy and giving back – which is one of our priorities year round at The Jamaica Biscuit Company.”
Some of the schools partaking in the special celebration include Duncans Primary Special Education Unit in Trelawny, Pear Tree River Special Needs School in St. Thomas, Llandilo School of Special Education in Westmoreland, and Hazard Primary School & Special Education Unit in Clarendon.
