Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – 29 April 2026 – As part of Autism Awareness Month, the Digicel Foundation created space at the company’s Port of Spain head office for staff to learn more about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Staff gathered for a relaxed watch party of the Netflix documentary Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World, complete with movie snacks, hot dogs, chips, and popcorn. The screening formed part of the Digicel Foundation’s ongoing efforts to encourage reflection and inclusive thinking within the workplace.

“Autism awareness goes beyond recognition. It’s about listening, understanding, and acceptance,” shared Diana Mathura-Hobson, Digicel Foundation Project Manager. She added, “We left the screening with a different perspective, and for some of us who have children with autism, the experience was especially enlightening. It opened the door for deeper understanding and meaningful connection with one another. There was not a dry eye in the room.”

The Digicel Foundation remains committed to promoting inclusion, awareness, and understanding across all areas of society, including within its own workplace.
