FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2020: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – Digicel Foundation donated hygiene supplies to Lady Hochoy Home, Cocorite on March 24th, as part of its ongoing COVID-19 response measures to assist those most vulnerable during this challenging time. The donation to Lady Hochoy Home consisted of a two-month supply of hygiene products and footballs for the children to use during recreation.
While the donation of personal hygiene products resonates with the fight against COVID-19, the Foundation also provided footballs to the Home so that the residents can enjoy some outdoor fun while observing stay at home restrictions. Sister Bertill Dean and other staff were appreciative of the items donated by the Digicel Foundation. Nicole Gill, Child Care Officer at Lady Hochoy Home profusely thanked Digicel Foundation for their donation during this crisis.
At present, the Home is one of the many NGO’s globally, who are reeling from the impact of the present pandemic. The scarcity of hygiene products placed them at a disadvantage to adequately provide for the needs of the residents, all of whom are adults and children with special needs.
The Digicel Foundation continues to provide support to the vulnerable communities as part of their global mandate to create a world where no one gets left behind.
