PUBLIC INVITED TO OPEN DAY FOR TT$100K E.P.I.C. GRANT APPLICATIONS

MONDAY, 8 MAY 2023: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – The Digicel Foundation and Shell Trinidad and Tobago are hosting an open day to provide interested persons with more information on the current call for applications to the EPIC (Extraordinary Projects Impacting Communities) programme. The open day will be held on Friday 12 May from 9am to 4pm at Digicel’s Box at the Queen’s Park Oval.

The call for applications opened on April 27 and will run until May 27, 2023. Registered non-profit organisations, including NGOs, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, and public schools, can apply for grant funding of up to TT$100,000 to implement sustainable community initiatives that focus on one of the following subject areas: renewable energy; agriculture or the environment.

At the open day, members of the public will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Project Officers from the Digicel Foundation and representatives from Shell Trinidad and Tobago to discuss their EPIC project concepts. All interested persons are welcome to walk-in throughout the day to have their questions answered or to see if their project ideas align with the three subject areas. Assistance and guidance will also be offered in filling in application forms.

The EPIC Programme is seeking applications for projects that will add significant value to the lives of the beneficiaries and can be implemented within a 12–14 week period.  Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate beneficiary impact and innovation in the field of focus when completing application forms. They must also provide proof of registration, a detailed budget and a current annual return. Only one application per group will be considered. Ten grants will be awarded.

Founded in 2016, EPIC aims to deliver a series of small scale community-based projects that have the potential to enhance indoor and outdoor spaces and contribute toward the development of communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago. To-date, EPIC has benefited 60,544 persons in 162 communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
