DIGICEL FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES 200 HAMPERS IN THE MARABELLA COMMUNITY

MONDAY DECEMBER 20, 2021: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – Last Saturday, residents from the Marabella Train Line area were grateful to receive 200 Food Hampers valued at TT$300 each. The $60,000 partnership between the Digicel Foundation and Bayshore Open Bible Church will help fill the pantries of families in need for the holidays.

Digicel Foundation Director, Guy Small and Project Coordinator – Diana Mathura-Hobson were on hand to assist with the distribution in the community. Also present was Pastors Ansyl and Gail Grant along with volunteer church members to assist with the distribution.  Pastor Gail Grant shared, “This is amazing compared to what we normally do. This community has been severely impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic, so this is a timely intervention.”

This Christmas the Digicel Foundation has been spreading cheer under its #ShareMore mantra.  The corporate non-profit has been distributing toys, food hampers and other support to communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago.  In an effort to #sharemore joy, the Foundation also awarded $5,000 to 12 Digicel staff to spread love in their respective communities.  The $148,190 investment has directly impacted over 800 persons in Trinidad and Tobago.
