The #ShareMore Christmas initiative encourages Digicel staff to implement projects that will have a great impact on the members of their community. Twelve selected staff members inclusive of Dionne, received TT$5000 each to fund the execution of their projects.
Dionne has been very keen about promoting literacy and saw it as a great opportunity to bring Christmas cheer to the children. She believes that it is important regardless of a child’s background, to know that nothing is beyond their reach once they are willing to work for it.
She shared, “Amazing isn’t it, how life tends to come full circle?” She reminisced about how as a child she went with her grandmother to visit homes much like Couva Children’s Home. She added, “Due to COVID, we couldn’t interact the way we wanted to but this experience was such a fulfilling one which I will never forget.” Dionne expressed her gratitude to the Digicel Foundation for supporting her efforts to bring Christmas joy to the Home and dedicated the project in honour of the memory of her grandmother.
