FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 2019: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – Non- Governmental Organisations (NGOs) across Trinidad and Tobago continue to find partnerships that can positively impact those in need. The Work, Talent Dedication, Youth, Art, Sports and Cultural Foundation (WTDF), applied to the Digicel Foundation for a grant to purchase back-to-school supplies for students from twenty primary schools across East and West Port of Spain.
This initiative came out of a collaboration of Primary-school teachers and the youth-based culturally dynamic group. They applied to the Digicel Foundation for a Community Engagement TT$10,000 grant to cover the cost of the venture.
Diana Mathura-Hobson, Digicel Foundation Project Coordinator presented the back-to-school items to parents and students at the St James Youth Facility on August 25.
Some of the beneficiary schools were; Mucurapo Boys RC School, Nelson Street Boys RC School, Four Roads Government Primary School, La Puerta Government Primary School, and Bethlehem Boys R C School to name a few.
The Digicel Foundation Community Engagement Programme is a small grant programme that offers funding of TT$10,000 for the completion of small-scale projects. In the last two years, 26projects have been funded, impacting over 4,000 persons throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
