Through the use of traditional and new media, ALTA continues to develop innovative strategiesto build awareness on adult literacy. They partnered with the Digicel Foundation to access grant funding to develop a short film that will help to remove the stigma that is associated with non-readers.
The new ALTA venture, will focus on how literacy can improve the lives of students through the production of an interactive animated video.
In order to offset costs, the Association applied to the Digicel Foundation’s Community Engagement Programme, and successfully secured $6,000 in funding to produce the video. Recently, Project Coordinator Diana Mathura visited the ALTA headquarters in Belmont to meet the team and understand the vision behind the initiative.
