Digicel PNG Foundation is delighted to partner with Nips Cleaning Services to officially launch and sign a Memorandum of Agreement for the pilot of the Klin Komuniti Program in Kavieng, New Ireland Province. “This program is complementing the work that our partner, Ruthy Watlen, and her volunteers have already been conducting in the Ward 2 area of Kavieng Town. The key focus of the Klin Komuniti Program is to help communities become self-reliant by focusing on improving the environment in which they live and also addressing important health and sanitation issues faced in many communities across Papua New Guinea,” says Beatrice Mahuru, CEO of Digicel PNG Foundation. The program will be piloted in Wards 2- 4 of the Kavieng Urban LLG and will engage volunteers and residents from these areas. The Klin Komuniti program falls under the Foundation’s focus area of community building and is designed to inform communities and indigenous people living within Papua New Guinea of the many ways in which the environment can be improved. The main aim of the program is litter reduction and beautification through action and education.
