With huge smiles on their faces, the special education students of Cheshire disAbility Services proudly taught the Digicel Volunteers how to do the Papua New Guinea National Anthem in sign language. Learning basic sign language was part of the activities of Digicel PNG Foundation’s first quarter Employee Volunteer Day program. A total of 30 Digicel employees volunteered for the day which was themed “Special people – special ways.” Volunteers interacted with the students by playing games, sharing reading, learning basic sign language and doing basic physiotherapy exercises. Our Employee Volunteer Day program is a day where Digicel Staff are given the opportunity to volunteer with the Foundation’s program partners. The aim of this is for volunteers to receive an appreciation of the Foundations community relations programs and understand what kind of impact the investments we are making has on beneficiaries.
