Kingston, Jamaica – May 28, 2024 – Digicel Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Joy Clark as its new Chair, following a unanimous vote at the Foundation’s board meeting held on Monday, May 28th, 2024. This appointment comes as the Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of helping to build Jamaica.

Clark brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the Foundation's mission. Having served the Foundation in various capacities, including Vice-Chair, she has been instrumental in establishing strategic partnerships that have significantly advanced the Foundation’s goals. Clark was also instrumental in securing sponsors for the Foundation's recent 'Follow the Trail, Invest in Braille’ campaign, which significantly contributed to its success. Her appointment as Chair is a testament to her dedication and exemplary leadership.

Clark succeeds Jean Lowrie Chin, who has served as the Digicel Foundation Chair since October 2014. Under Mrs Lowrie-Chin’s leadership, the Foundation has seen tremendous growth and success, and the Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude for her years of service and dedication.

A well-established professional with a distinguished career, Joy Clark is renowned in corporate circles for her service excellence. During her 13-plus years at Digicel, she has been recognised for her results-oriented focus, unquestionable integrity, and proficient work ethic. With over 30 years of sales and sales management experience, she has mastered business and market development, service experience, and client retention.

Clark’s impressive educational background includes an Executive MBA in Telecommunications in the 'Digicel University' programme in collaboration with the Mona School of Business at the University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with first-class honours from the University College of the Caribbean (UCC), and various certifications in sales, marketing, credit policy, and collection techniques. Her academic excellence was highlighted early on when she was named valedictorian and most outstanding female student at Duff’s Business College.

Her longstanding commitment to community outreach and partnership building makes her a natural fit for the role of Chair. A Justice of the Peace, Clark has been a devoted volunteer with the Digicel Foundation since its inception, and her transition to the chairman's position is both seamless and expected. She is inspired by the Foundation's work and is eager to continue supporting marginalised groups while representing Digicel meaningfully.

“I am truly honoured to be considered for this role. Serving in this capacity, I am committed to building on the remarkable work the Digicel Foundation has been doing in supporting Special Needs, education, and community development” Clark expressed, “I am confident that we will continue to positively impact the lives of Jamaicans, and I look forward to working with each of you—board members, staff, and partners—to create a better future for all."
