60 More Tablets for Special Needs Students

Giving is a big part of Digicel, and in the context of the COVID-19 global pandemic, things are no different. The company and the Digicel Foundation has lived up to the #ThereWithYou promise and made donations to healthcare workers and hospitals, students and educational institutions and supported Governments across all markets. 

So when the patron of the Digicel Foundation (Denis O’Brien) visited Jamaica following  the opening of borders, he was happy to participate in a handover of tablets to the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) and The STEP Centre.

Following the Foundation's donation of 1,000 tablets to the Governemnet of Jamiaca, the need for additional devices was apparent.

Each of the over 1,000 tablet donated were equipped with SIM Cards and 1-year of free data. 

 In addition to the 60 additional tablets handed over, the Foundation supported the Transformed Life Church and UNICEF Jamaica by donating SIM cards and data plans to tablets purchased by these organisations.
