The Jamaica Netball Association was given a home by the Government of Jamaica – which will serve as the residence of the Sunshine Girls for the next twelve months, leading up to the Netball Championships later this year. The house was retrofitted and refurbished by the Digicel Foundation and corporate Jamaica to better suit the needs of the girls and the technical staff. The official House Warming was held on the grounds of the Chalet on Sunday March 13th, 2011 where attendees were given a grand tour of the newly furnished home
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house is located on at least 2 acres of land and was recently fully refurbished and retrofitted as the new home for the Sunshine Girls and the JNA. Referred to as the ‘Sunshine Chalet’ the house will act as the official home for the National Netball team and will assist in their preparations for upcoming netball championship
The Digicel Foundation refurbished the three bathrooms, erected a fourth bedroom and completed the all the repairs of the floors, closets and the President’s office. Further work was done by the Foundation on plumbing, electrical upgrade and painting.
