What a difference a Day makes! December 6th will always be a day to be remembered. 600 children from 33 child care facilities across the entire island were shuttled into Kingston and treated with fun, food, lots of excitement and surprises for an entire Day.
The event dubbed, ‘CHRISTMAS VILLAGE' was held courtesy of the Child Development Agency and the Digicel Foundation at the Digicel grounds, 38-42 Lady Musgrave Road. The children were provided with a wide range of fun activities, including story telling by Amina Blackwood Meeks, body and face painting by Eon and Robby, art and craft projects, Bull Riding, Ferris wheel, and even a photo booth with Santa.
Bright smiles and light feet hit the grounds when world Triple Olympic Gold Medallist, Usain Bolt and dancehall sensation, Elephant Man graced the stage and entertained the youngsters with a variety of dances and songs. The fun continued with stellar performances from QQ-, and Bounty Killer.
A great highlight for the children was Shaggy’s interaction with them and the photos that he took. The children enjoyed food, including tasty jerk chicken, pop corn, drink and nestle products served by the volunteers.
The day drew to an exciting close with each child collecting gifts purchased by dedicated and hardworking Digicel staff who also volunteered with the day’s activities.
