Widows' Mite Mustard Seed Home

The Widows’ Mite Mustard Seed Home in Murray Mount, St. Ann has been giving new hope to physically and mentally challenged children who have been abandoned. Unfortunately, the absence of a physiotherapy unit over the years left the children with little or no stimulation outside of feeding times. Responding to a request from the Home, Digicel Foundation constructed and equipped a Physiotherapy Room which now enables the children to receive individual attention on a daily basis and also serves as an ongoing training centre for the caregivers via a Distance Training Programme. The Foundation also constructed a Computer Training Centre/ Internet Café for the benefit of the Widows’ Mite caregivers as well as children and adults of the Murray Mountain community. The centre will gain internet access through Digicel’s wireless internet service, WiMax.
