THE DIGICEL FOUNDATION MAKES MORE THAN 2,000 CHILDREN HAPPY FOR CHRISTMAS

Port-au-Prince, HAITI - December 22, 2020: Throughout the month of December, the Digicel Foundation proceeded with its traditional distribution of gifts at a handful of schools within its network.

The holiday season is one of the occasions when the spirit of giving is clearly present. Characterized by exchanges, volunteering and other activities, it is a time for institutions like the Digicel Foundation to help schools as well as other social organizations.

In keeping with the theme of this year's Digicel Christmas campaign, "N ap bay plis" (We are giving more), more than a dozen schools, individuals and organizations working with children received gifts. A motivated team traveled across the country to deliver these toys directly to the children who did not hesitate to express their contentment during these distributions. Among the beneficiary schools this year were: Ecole Saint Francois d'Assise, located in the South department, Ecole Mixte la Providence in the Artibonite and Ecole Nationale de Catron in the North West.

A rather special distribution was held at the Ecole Communautaire Germain of Cazal, one of the Foundation's first schools. In a joyful atmosphere: Santa Claus and representatives of the Foundation bearing gifts were there to close the academic semester on a much more joyful note. Several hundred girls and boys were able to return to their homes with a gift in hand and joy in their hearts.

Because this year tested us in countless ways, many of us are looking forward to the holiday season more than ever before. It is the opportune time for activities with family, friends and especially to show loved ones our care and affection. Nonetheless, remember that the health and safety situation remains critical, and it is recommended that you respect the recommended guidelines based on the pandemic and remain vigilant when you travel.  May this holiday season bring you happiness and on behalf of the Digicel Foundation I wish you a wonderful 2021'', says Sophia Stransky, Executive Director of the Digicel Foundation.
