History of the School:
Panou school was founded in January 2001. As its name suggests it means our school. The name was chosen so that the community understands that the school belongs to them. They wanted the education of Haitian schoolchildren to be in harmony with the reality of the environment. The school began with just three classes.
About the school:
Panou School is a Community School working with a certificate from the Ministry of Education. There are 196 students and 8 teachers working in the school. The school delivers classes up to grade 9 and teaches maths, French and Creole, the Social Sciences and experimental science.
The parents' committee is composed of 10 parents whose role is to reinforce the decisions of the property for the benefit of the parents. This committee shall assist the institution in certain activities and assist management in school management.
Partners of the school:
In 2007 the Foundation DIGICEL reconstructed and furnished the school. In 2008, the Foundation financially supports the payment and training of teachers. The school is part of a food program. This program is supported by WFP. Students are vaccinated by the MSPP.
