At the Digicel Foundation we aim to invest in sustainable development programmes for the sole purpose of building stronger more resilient communities in the countries where we operate.
Established in 2012, the Digicel Foundation in Trinidad and Tobago is committed to making a positive and lasting impact in the following areas:
- SPECIAL NEEDS: Supporting initiatives and improving opportunities available to persons with special needs, their caretakers and families. This ranges from upgrading the quality of existing educational facilities, promoting sports for development, advocating for inclusion, providing training/access to therapy and adequate preparation for disaster and emergency response for this underserved community. Our projects are people-driven and aimed at building awareness while empowering stakeholders to be part of the change they want to see.
- COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Collaboration with non- profit organisations to transform local community life. We partner with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), Faith Based Organisations (FBOs), international agencies and other public-private sector allies to implement and or fund initiatives that are dynamic and stimulate social change. We encourage community self-reliance, enabling change through the implementation of sustainable projects that transform community spaces, build stakeholder life skills, examine digital responsibility, foster income or entrepreneurial development and inspire community ownership.
