ANOTHER PAGE IN THE MALONEY STORY

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 13, 2021: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO- Fulfilling a commitment he made to the Maloney Government Primary School in June 2020, Digicel Soca Avenger, Akeem “Preedy” Chance closed off the year handing over fifteen laptops to his alma-mater. The donation of the 15 laptops was made possible through collaboration with the Digicel Foundation under Phase II of its Connecting You programme.

On hand to receive the laptops on behalf of the students was Principal Charmaine Gardner who shared that the devices will go a long way in ensuring that the students are equipped to take part in their educational virtual classes. Principal Gardner said, “We are grateful that Akeem chose to get involved in assisting the school since more than 200 students are presently without devices.”

“Preedy” who was excited to deliver on his promise to the school said, “This is an excellent way to close another chapter of the Maloney Story and the year 2020”. Additionally, with the grant funding of US$5,000 received through the Digicel Foundation Community Engagement Programme, ‘Preedy’ also replaced all 100 chairs for the STD 5 classrooms.  All 100 desks are also expected to be refurbished by March 2021. Members of the community will assist with the refurbishment of the desks as they too continue to play a significant part in the Maloney story.
