The funds also went towards the construction of a slip drain, which will alleviate a flood problem the organization faced whenever heavy rains occurred.
Upon completion of the project, which was contracted out to David’s Construction and Maintenance Services, a walk through was conducted on January 17 as part of the closing inspection. In attendance was Barbara Allen, CEO at Goodwill Industries, Digicel Foundation Project Officer, Natalie-Anne De Silva and Davendra Bhola Manager at David’s Construction and Maintenance Services.
Sharing her thoughts, Ms. Allen stated that “the Goodwill Industries remain grateful for the continued support from the Digicel Foundation over the years, through its various social interventions.” Allen further commended the professionalism and generous nature of the contractor, who included On the Job efforts for students from the metal works and fabricating department, affording them the opportunity to work with Davendra’s team.
