FRIDAY, JANUARY 11 2019: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – The Care Helpers Organization of Trinidad and Tobago is a Not-For-Profit organization that provides emotional and financial support to parents and caregivers of children living with the medical condition, Cerebral Palsy (CP).
Among the many objectives of the NGO is to promote awareness on CP, extend financial and other assistance to persons living with CP and their caregivers. It provides a platform to promote positive change to those living with CP. Agitating for positive change in public assistance / social services rendered by state agencies is one of the many services the organization offers to CP patients and their families.
Last year, the organization made an appeal to the Digicel Foundation through its Community Engagement Programme for funding to purchase toiletries for the children.
The grant was approved in the sum of TT$10,000 and a cheque presentation was made on December 18 to the Care Helpers Organization of Trinidad and Tobago at the organization’s Christmas function. A gracious Michelle Bisram Lashley, President of the Care Helpers Organization thanked the Digicel Foundation for responding to their appeal.
The Care Helpers Organisation is a newly founded partner who also benefited from the Digicel Foundation’s Therapy Based Education Two Day Workshop held in May, last year.
