The programme comprised of five sessions in - Business Etiquette, Financial Management, Stress Management and Employee Rights and the Path of Negotiation - the 6thand final Step offers an internship opportunity for ten of the participants.
Vanessa Thomas Williams, an expert on Employee Relations and Industrial Law facilitated the last session held on Saturday. Thomas Williams also delved into the Rights derived from Laws, Collective Agreements and Contract Employment.
Sharon Gomez along with her two daughters Akilah and Zakiyah attended all five sessions. Ms. Gomez said she was inspired by all the facilitators and felt that an initiative such as this should be repeated with the opportunity for more young women to benefit.
Another keen attendee Adrienne Jones commented on the programme “The Resume Magic and the Financial Management stuck out the most for me.” She added, “I thought I was on the right track and that I knew everything about saving, however, these sessions have given me a new perspective and I’ve already begun to adopt the techniques and develop new practices.”
Jones who lives in Point Fortin and made the long commute every Saturday morning thanked Digicel Foundation and AFETT for the wonderful opportunity.
Five Digicel employees were among the participants that took part in the month-long programme as part of their professional development.
