Wednesday 15th October 2014 – Port Moresby: Digicel PNG Foundation celebrated its 6th Anniversary with students of its Community Learning Centres (CLCs) from Central Province and the National Capital District. Chief Executive Officer of Digicel PNG Foundation, Beatrice Mahuru said, “We are thrilled to have our students from our CLCs join us to celebrate our 6th Anniversary with us. We believe education is the single biggest opportunity we can offer our children and that is why we continue to invest in our Community Learning Centres.” The 6th Anniversary celebrations also included the Employee Volunteer Day. Over 30 volunteers from Digicel PNG Ltd took part in the Employee Volunteer Day. Volunteers assisted the Foundation Team and organised games and activities for the students. The aim of the Employee Volunteer Day is to expose Digicel staff to the work of the Foundation and allow them to interact with the recipients of Digicel Foundation funded projects. Students and teachers had a fun-filled day taking turns on the bouncy castle, playing musical chairs, doing literacy and numeracy bingo, getting their faces painted, eating apples hung from a string, jumping to and fro in the sack race and toughing it out in the tug-o-war.
