School history:

St Michel National school was founded because there was no school at St Michel (secondary school). We would like to extend our thanks to the mayor and the Deputy for seeking help successfully from the Digicel Foundation. We are now able to a beautiful lycee of 14 large classrooms which has huge benefits to the children and the community. The school is almost finished its second phase of building and will open its dorrs to new students this September.

 

About the School

St Michel is a national school operating with authorization from the Ministry of Education. There are 450 students in the school, 206 boys and 224 girls and 24 teachers in total at the school. The school provides 11 grades of education including preschool, primary and secondary classes. The subjects taught at the school are Math’s, French, Creole, Social and experimental science.

 

The direction council is composed of 7 people. The school director, teachers and parents. They take care of the school’s belongings and control the school’s administration. The parents committee is formed of 9 people who help with the functioning of the school and offer support to the board.    

                                                           

School partners:

In 2008 the DIGICEL foundation constructed and furnished the school. The school is part of a food program. This program is supported by WFP, who feeds the teachers and the student son a daily basis, during all the scholar year. The students are vaccinated by the MSPP
