The school mission is to educate, instruct, and transmit knowledge to the children from 3 to 14 years from the poorest areas.

School history:

St Patrick was founded in 2000. Its vocation was to educate children between 7 to12 years who has never gone to school due to the situation of existing in the slums. In 2007 the St Luc mission tried to build a totally secured school in Cite Soleil. The land was offered by the Town-hall of Cite Soleil and four months later the DIGICEL Foundation built and furnished the school for the well being of 400 students.

About the school:

St Patrick is a community school operating with a certificate from the ministry of education. It has 400 students and 10 teachers. This school teaches up to the standard 6. Kindergarten is also provided.

School functioning:

The school board is composed of four people who take care of the running of the school. The St Luke mission frames the board and works to foster the relationship between the school and the community.

The parent’s committee is made up of five parents. Their role is to watch exchanges between the different committees; they help resolve differences that could arise between the communities and the committee.

School partners:

St Luc mission works with the teachers and monitors the student’s education closely.

This school is part of a food program. This program is supported by Food for the Poor, who feeds the students and teachers, during the school year.

In 2007 DIGICEL reconstructed and entirely furnished the school. In 2008 the foundation supported financially the formation and the payments of the teachers.

The students are vaccinated by MSPP.
