WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 6 2019: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – After an inspection was conducted at the Servol Special Needs School located in Sunshine Hill, East Port of Spain, it was determined that its floors, the bathroom block including the fencing which surrounds the school, were in dire need of repairs.
Through the Digicel Foundation Centres of Excellence programme, the work was contracted out to Jakaya General Construction Ltd. from within the said community to carry out the work. The project began in October 2018, and through the combined efforts of the Digicel Foundation and members of the community was completed in December 2018.
On February 1, Natalie-Anne De Silva Digicel Foundation Project Officer and members of the Servol Special School did a walkthrough to inspect the refurbished bathroom block.Renovations will continue at the School to complete the other identified projects which will include work on the flooring and a Therapy Room.
The Servol Special School which caters for 80 students is no stranger to the benefits of the Digicel Foundation’s generosity, having already been a past beneficiary through the Foundation’s Extraordinary Projects Impacting Communities (EPIC) Programme, where funding was provided to purchase paints, brushes and complete minor repairs throughout the school.
